The music world was shaken after the violent death of Mark Orabiyi, the British songwriter known artistically as Talay Riley, was confirmed. He was found with stab wounds in east London.
Metropolitan Police officers responded on the morning of Friday, June 5, after receiving a report of a stabbing and found the 35-year-old musician in a garden, where he was treated before being taken to a hospital.
Authorities confirmed that, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly afterward, opening a homicide investigation that remains ongoing.
In connection with the case, two men, ages 27 and 24, and a 25-year-old woman were arrested near the scene, although their identities and possible charges have not yet been released.
Another Victim and a Motive Still Unclear
Police also reported that a second man, approximately 20 years old, was wounded with a knife during the same incident and remains hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening.
For now, authorities have not detailed the possible motive for the attack or whether there is a direct relationship between the victims and those detained.

The investigation remains open, and the Metropolitan Police have not formally announced the charges the suspects may face as they continue gathering evidence.

The news of his death was confirmed over the weekend through an Instagram post signed by his family and manager, who highlighted not only his talent but also his human qualities.
Beyond the stages and awards, they said he will be remembered for his “humor, generous spirit, and unmistakable presence.”
His brother, Michael Orabiyi, wrote a deeply personal message in which he shared one of their last memories together: “Just before he went to sleep, we spoke about the future, staying positive, and everything we still had left to do.”
